Orange County Dental Institute offers an 8-hour Ultrasonic Scaling course, designed for Registered Dental Assistants (RDA) or Orthodontic Assistant Permit (OAP) candidates seeking proficiency in using ultrasonic scalers in orthodontic settings. Upon successful completion, students receive a certification in Ultrasonic Scaling.

Course Details:
- Combination of 4 hours online and in-class lecture, and 4 hours of lab and clinical work
- Training includes removing excess cement from orthodontically-banded teeth's coronal surfaces
- California Dental Board-approved, fulfilling state requirements for RDA and OAP teeth Ultrasonic Scaling certification

Prerequisites:
- Bring protective eyewear (gloves and mask provided)
- Proficiency in English
- Must be an RDA (submit RDA License copy) or possess qualifications for OAP exam
- Submit copies of:
- Current CPR card (AHA or ARC)
- California 8-hour Infection Control Certificate
- California Dental Practice Act certification
- Orthodontic Assistant course certificate
- Completion of online training and quizzes BEFORE CLINIC DAY
- Wear scrubs, tie hair back above the collar, and closed-toe footwear

Candidates must meet prerequisites and submit photocopies of required documentation with the registration form at least 48 hours before the course start date. Incomplete submissions will lead to rescheduling for the upcoming course start date.
